Grano’s EMMi Digital Asset Management has provided solutions for managing and sharing digital materials for over 20 years. As the volume of digital content continues to grow globally, we identified a need for improved asset recognition and a better user experience.
This led Grano to begin a collaboration with AWS Premier Partner Cloud2 to develop new EMMi features that enable AI‑powered asset recognition.
The recognition process used to rely mainly on manual input and basic automation techniques, which at times resulted in inconsistencies and inefficiencies.
Another key development area was the increasing customer need to automatically generate accurate alternative text (alt text) for assets — both to meet accessibility requirements and to improve the overall user experience of digital materials.
The solution significantly transformed EMMi’s capabilities:

- Users no longer need to tag images manually, eliminating human error and saving substantial time.

- Metadata accuracy has improved considerably, increasing asset discoverability — also through APIs.

- Automatic alt‑text generation has improved the accessibility of content for all users.
EMMi now serves as a more efficiently as a tool for product information and communications, enabling centralized, easy, and fast asset workflows. With EMMi’s centralized asset and project management, archiving, asset traffic, communication planning, and proof approvals can all be handled within a single service.
